Hangin’ with Christopher. We’re trying to keep up seeing each other for a few days twice a month. Something different this time? I’m bringing my doggy, Sundae! This will be her first time in New Paltz so she’ll have a ton of fun. Classes for the students are apparently starting tomorrow so there’ll be a lot of people around.
To be honest, I did really like the summer in New Paltz. It was just him and me and it was peaceful. But we’ll see. I hope my dog doesn’t get too flustered with all of the people around.
Christopher also managed to slice his hand pretty flippin’ bad today at work. All I get is this call going, “Uh, hey… Can you do me a huge favor and look up how to treat knife wounds?” I was like, UH, WHAT DID YOU DO? Even better, he was cutting a lemon so it hurt really bad. Sundae and I will be there to be his left hand for him. What’s sad is that he can’t play the guitar either. He tried playing it over Skype and it hurt ridiculously. I’m glad he ended up going to a doctor in the end.
So, I can’t wait for Friday morning. We’ll be sharing breakfast and chilling. I’ll be staying there up until Monday as well. My mom and brother are only cool with it since they don’t have to deal with the dog. LOL. I hope his suite mates don’t mind Sundae. She’s not harmful… just pretty dumb.
I was definitely nervous, especially since this is my first video interview with a celebrity. They were extremely nice guys and very sweet to talk to. Their performance at Otakon was amazing! :D
It’s messy. It always will be, especially when there are kids. My brother and I have the worst time trying to talk to both my parents when it comes to each other. They’ll say things that they honestly think about each other, most of it being negative. Who do I listen to? We both hate feeling like we’re in the middle but they also can’t talk to each other civilly all the time so my brother and I tend to be the go betweens. But I honestly think this was way better than them trying to stay with each other. I won’t go back on that.
So all of that hard work paid off, I would say. Otakon 2011 was crazy for us since we had to get so much finished in such a short amount of time. I stayed at my friend Joe’s house since this past Tuesday and worked on cosplay stuff all the way up until that Thursday. It was mainly to help him though since he was trying to make Guy Manuel from Daft Punk’s helmet.
But we managed to finish what we needed. Joe was literally finishing the helmet on the way to our craftsmanship judging/rehearsal. I had also finished recording and editing the audio track for our skit that Friday. It was really difficult but we got it all down. The result? We won three awards: Judge’s Awards for “Congratulations, it’s not Lupus” and “Electronica is Cool.” We also got Best Overall Journeyman! YEEEAAAAH! We pulled it off, guys! I’m so proud of everyone! :’)
