Well, my goodness. I go to sleep, wake up, and BAM! My Tumblr is filled with notifications about my drawing to Eat Your Kimchi. It’s all very sweet, thank you! :D
Speaking of sweet! I’ve been thinking of some things I can do during Spring Break. I might actually have some free time so here’s a few things on my list:
•Bake/Cook
•Take my dog to the vet (she’s going deaf. :( )
•Another speed painting
•Another adventure but this time not in NYC! My boyfriend and I have a few things planned. We’ll probably make videos.
•Play some more guitar
•Spend time doing whatever the eff I want to.
Sums that up. But I’ve been researching what I want to cook or bake. So far on my list is a dessert. I’m thinking a green tea cake with vanilla buttercream frosting. I asked zee boyfriend what he likes better: strawberry, chocolate, or vanilla. He chose vanilla. I figured this dessert would be an excellent choice. I’m going to attempt to make the frosting myself so I hopefully won’t screw it up.
My boyfriend will actually be staying with me during the spring break since I’ll be home alone. My mom and brother are going to England and I opted to stay home and house-sit. I have no need to go, especially since I’ve been there before… a good amount of times. It’s nice to have the whole house to myself.
It’s still stressful like everyday I have but thinking about it, I’m stressing over what I love to do: design.
I wasn’t really sure about my own work and I’m usually a bit hesitant during crits. I handed over my work to my typography teacher, Ed Benguiat and he could tell I was definitely unsure. He looked at my work and told me everything I should fix and look out for. After seeing the rest of my work, he gave me some encouragement. He can picture seeing my work in Macy’s one day.
Of course, this was a big ego boost and I’m not saying that it’ll happen either. I don’t think I’m the best either. But hey, if someone like Ed can see this happening, I know what to strive for and work harder towards. I’m far from it though.
My goal is to work in a record company in the art department designing album packaging. I absolutely love it. I do love designing books and other things like that. We all have to design the small things before working large, right? It’d be nice. It’s a big goal and days like today make me realize why I’m here.
The class ended with this.
“Have a great week, Ed.”
“You too, darling.”
Having an 80-something year old professor is absolutely hilarious and adorable, especially when he decides to light a cigarette in a room with no windows. Ha ha ha!
